White Label Goat Milk Soap Manufacturing
This is mostly what we do. In fact, it's why we have never really worked on having a fancy logo and packaging for our soap brand Happy Goat Creamery. We have been calling folks who buy our soap for the purpose of reselling it "resellers" for years and have considered ourselves wholesalers of our hand made goat milk soap this whole time. It's only recently that I learned that this is called White Label Manufacturing (I feel fancy now) which means a company that makes their standard product and sells it to other companies that label it with their own brands and resell it.
Though lately we have been getting requests for more customization of our soap and requests for more goat milk products such as bath bombs and lotions. Still this has mostly just been new scents added to the soap and doing R&D on the bath bombs and lotions to see if we can expand into that as well.

Private Label Goat Milk Soap Manufacturing
Come to find out private label manufacturing is what it is called when the folks looking to buy are wanting us to produce their signature recipe soap that is not only their own recipe but is also only produced for them, that way they can hand over the production of the soap that their customers have become accustomed to over to us.
There are 2 big hick-ups with this on our end. 1st is cost $$, normally they use much more expensive base ingredients than we do (almond oil, coconut oil etc.) and still expect the bars to be sold to them at the same low price that we sell our bars for when often the production cost would be well over double the production cost of our bar soap. 2nd is batch size. often we are approached by micro businesses just getting started who are just not able to purchase a 140 bar batch which is our standard batch size. this leads to the request of asking us to warehouse the soap and they "will just purchase it as they sell it" unfortunately what has happened to us in the past is that they never end up purchasing the whole batch normally only 5 to 10 bars and we never hear from them again and they don't take our phone calls, so essentially we cannot do private label manufacturing for you unless you are willing to buy the whole batch and warehouse it yourself.
We are open to the idea of producing your recipe for you and would love to talk to you about it and give you a production quote but please make sure that you have the customer base for this jump up in batch size.
