What happened in August 2023 UPDATE dairy goat Homestead goat milk soap
August went by fast with crazy weather. Normally August is super hot for most of the month, but this time it averaged in the 70's until the 22nd then it got super hot 90 + with heat index of 120 because of the humidity. It did a lot of light rain, just enough to keep the humidity high. A goat kidded twins that are both doing very well! Our Billy kids are growing big and are on track to go to the sale barn in December, that is unless somebody buys them before then. Most of the does came into heat, and the billies settled them. So we are set for a huge kidding season in January. Let me know if you would like to reserve a kid. We started a newsletter that is doing well, and the majority of the does are bred to kid in January! So if your looking to buy bottle kids or just want to stay up-to-date with all the busy stuff around here sign up for our newsletter.

Monkey is milking 4 to 5 pounds a day. She is a wonderful goat that has kidded 3 times for us. She was born here on the farm, and is in her prime years. She is 3 years old Unicorn is currently dry (not milking). She has kidded 4 times for us, once was triplets! She kidded twins this year which I sold because I needed some extra cash. I didn't need the milk so I let her dry up. She could be bred to be lactating offset of monkey. She is 5 years old These are this year's bucks. Both are of breeding age and are in rut. I didn't name them so that I didn't get attached. The one that is black with a white stripe is Lamancha with a little alpine. The one that is red with white spots is 25% sannen 25% lamancha 50% boar. Price: for both does and 1 of the bucks $1000
